Pakistan Viral Video: A video has gone viral on social media platforms in which a young woman in Pakistan revealed shocking details about ‘business’ of her in-laws. In a YouTube video shared by Pakistani Youtuber Syed Basit Ali, the woman, Shazia, an MBBS doctor by profession, revealed how she was married into a ‘wealthy’ family of professional beggars, who had tricked her parents into believing that they had made their fortune with a thriving import-export business.
“My family fixed my marriage, and the 4-5 months were amazing, I barely did any work. My in-laws told me to enjoy life to its fullest. I had a very luxurious life there,” Shazia recounts in the video. “They own a massive bungalow. It has a gym, a swimming pool, and luxury cars like Land Cruiser and Fortuner. There are servants to take care of every need,” she revealed.
‘They went begging in SUVs’
However, after around 4-5 months, Shazia made a shocking discovery. She found that the family members, both young and old, were professional beggars.
“I became curious after I saw family members, both young and old, discreetly leaving in their cars, and heading somewhere everyday. One day, I entered the basement where I was shocked to find ‘costumes’ they use for begging. They would put on these (costumes), sit in their cars, and head to their designated spots to beg for alms, everyday,” Shazia revealed.
The young woman further said she followed them one day and found the family members begging in groups at different spots on the streets of Lahore.
Hired makeup artists to look the part
Shazia further revealed that her in-laws even employed a professional makeup artist who would dress them for the ‘role’. “My husband would put up bandages on his arms and keep a bowl in front of him, his brother posed a having a dysfunctional leg, while my mother-in-law pretended to be handicapped with both legs disabled,” she said, adding that she went into a depression after witnessing this.
The young woman said she was physically assaulted by her in-laws when she confronted them about their so-called ‘business’, following which she returned to her maternal home.
“Self-respect is more important than money. I could not put up with such people,” Shazia stated.
