North Lanarkshire Council will decide whether to permit the installation of an air source heat pump at a supermarket in Wishaw.

The local authority has received a planning application from representatives of Aldi which seeks approval for the machinery at the store in Glasgow Road.

Neighbouring properties, many of which are residential, have been notified of this application.

A noise impact report was also submitted to the council and this states that even if all the proposed machinery were in operation simultaneously the noise generated would be well below WHO guidance levels. In fact the machinery would be operated on a demand basis.

The report therefore states that there would be no risk of sleep disruption for residents even with the machinery running 24 hours a day.

To view the planning application or to leave comment for consideration, visit North Lanarkshire Council’s website and search for reference 25/00797/FUL.
