Alcaraz speaks to crowd

Here’s what Carlos Alcaraz had to say after his victory.

Alcaraz: “I don’t know why it is Fabio’s last Wimbledon because of the level – he can still play for three or four years, I have to give him credit.

“I had to give him the credit for such a great match. Fabio is a great player.”

“I’m just a little bit sad it is his last Wimbledon but I’m happy to have shared the court and locker room wth him.

“Playing the first match on Centre Court is never easy, I’ve been playing well on the grass.

“Wimbledon is special and different – it feel different from the other tournaments.

“I would say I can be better and must improve but it was a great match.

“I know it won’t be personal [fans cheering for Tarvet].

“I saw he qualified for the first time, he is playing great tennis, he deserves to be in the second round.

“I will try to bring my best tennis, try and work on the serve and return.”
