When is North England vs South England? New date, confirmed players, ticket information and more

North England FC will take on their South England counterparts in a match between former Premier League players in September.

The original date of Sunday, June 1, 2025 had to be postponed due to “existing engagements or injuries” for some of the stars booked.

Robbie Fowler will be a player-manager for the North, while former Tottenham and West Ham boss Harry Redknapp will be in the dugout for the South.

John Terry will serve as captain for the South, with Steve McManaman wearing the armband for the North.

Organisers have said the North team will bring together “local heroes and international stars who share northern roots or have become adopted icons at northern clubs”, with the South side containing a similar mix of “homegrown talent and global stars”.

Date, kick-off time and venue

The game is scheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2025.

A broadcaster for the match has not yet been announced.

It has been confirmed that each squad will consist of 16 players “from the top-flight’s recent past”.

The players involved will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fowler will be both a player and a manager on the day, with the former Liverpool striker relishing the chance to return to the pitch.

“There is obviously an element of fun to the game but I guarantee this will be competitive and serious because it will be great to beat them,” Fowler said.
