Bryan Mbeumo made his first appearance for Man Utd in their friendly against Everton in Atlanta
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim told Bryan Mbeumo to enjoy his first outing for the club as the forward made his debut appearance for the Reds in the friendly against Everton.
Mbuemo joined from Brentford shortly before United jetted off to America for three fixtures as part of the Premier League summer series.
But the 25-year-old played no part in the wins over West Ham and Bournemouth with the Cameroon international given time to adjust to his new club and get up to speed in training.
Mbeumo was then handed a start against Everton and played 45 minutes before being replaced at the break.
He started in one of the two number 10 roles alongside Bruno Fernandes with Amad at right wing-back and Mathues Cunha through the middle.
Mbeumo caught the eye with a lively showing, playing in Amad to win the penalty which Fernandes converted to open the scoring. The former Brentford man then came close to adding to the score when he twice saw efforts blocked.
It was a solid showing for Mbeumo and Amorim will have been pleased with what he saw. The United boss, speaking to Sky Sports before the game, was asked what he had said to the former Brentford man ahead of his first appearance in United colours.
“Nothing special, just to enjoy,” said the Reds chief. “Explain really well the role, that is the only thing I can do to help the player be relaxed in the game. He has the time to feel at home so he is ready to start.”
