Niagara Regional Police say detectives with the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit began a joint investigation with police in Brantford in January for the sexual exploitation of children over a social media platform.
On Saturday, police said ICE Unit officers and the Technological Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a private residence in Welland.
Investigators seized numerous digital devices capable of storing electronic data, cops said.
A suspect was identified and taken into custody.
Jordan R. Gauthier is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and making child pornography available.
