Waukegan man sold drugs to undercover detectives near elementary school: Police – NBC Chicago

A Waukegan man was arrested by law enforcement in the northern suburbs after allegedly selling drugs to undercover detectives within 500 feet on an elementary school, authorities said.

Agustin Arias, 41, was charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a school. After obtaining information that Arias was allegedly selling drugs, the Lake County Special Investigations Group conducted an undercover operation, which determined he was selling cocaine, sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

Arias sold drugs to undercover detectives several times, within 500 feet of the school, police said. The 41-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday following a traffic stop.

A judge denied Arias pre-trial release. His next scheduled court appearance is on Aug. 6.
