Ford is among the top car makers to be pulling models due to health and safety concerns.
A warning has been issued to thousands of drivers with some top model cars on their driveways or parked outside their homes – amid urgent recalls from leading car makers.
Ford is among the top car makers to be pulling models due to health and safety concerns. It is feared as many as 800,000 models could be recalled, with hundreds of thousands of drivers, road users and motorists affected.
Ford will inspect and, if necessary, replace the affected components free of charge. Dealers are being notified, and customers can bring their vehicles in to have the faults remedied, the US car giant has added in an alert for those who own its vehicles.

But it isn’t the only car manufacturer acting. Others recalling cars amid health and safety concerns are Mercedes Benz and Honda.
The three brands have been forced to issue recall notices in the United States, impacting more than 850,000 vehicles in total.
Ford
Ford is recalling nearly 200,000 Mustang Mach-E SUVs in the United States due to a safety issue that could prevent back seat passengers from escaping in an emergency.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says the problem could trap rear passengers by limiting their ability to enter or exit the vehicle when necessary.
In addition, Ford is recalling over 120,000 Lincoln Aviators and more than 180,000 Ford Explorers from model years 2020 through 2025. The issue in these vehicles involves a faulty seat fold switch, which can cause seats to move or fold unexpectedly, posing a risk of injury and increasing the chance of a crash.
Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz has issued recalls for the EQS sedan, GLC, AMG SL 55 and S-Class models over a potential fire risk. This is the sixth voluntary recall so far this year from the luxury car manufacturer, affecting a total of 30 units.
Nearly 93,000 Mercedes models have been recalled in the US this week alone.
“It has been identified that the fuse boxes might not have been reworked correctly. As a result, systems connected to the fuse might fail, and the vehicle might lose its propulsion without prior warning, and the restraint functions or the instrument cluster might also be impaired, increasing the risk of a crash and injuries. Under such specific circumstances, a potential risk of a thermal incident in the vehicle cannot be excluded,” noted the recall listing on SIAM’s website.
Honda
Honda is recalling 259,033 vehicles in the U.S. because a small number of them may have a brake pedal defect.
The cars’ brake pedal pivot pin was not properly staked during production, meaning the pedal can potentially move side to side, preventing motorists from safely stopping their cars, according to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
A range of vehicle models could potentially contain faulty brake pedals, according to the report. The models that could have the defect are:
- 2021-2025 Acura TLX
- 2023-2025 Acura MDX
- 2023-2025 Honda Pilot
“If the driver is unable to safely slow or stop the vehicle, the risk of a crash or injury [is] increased,” the NHSA’s safety report states.
