The controversial video opens with the man resting his container on the Indian toilet. He goes on to spray water inside the container and rinse it further.

The video quickly gained traction, triggering a backlash over hygiene and food safety measures by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). “Optimum use of the available resources which saves time and energy too.Thanks Indian Railways for always being at our service,” a user commented. “India needs more privatisation in railways,” another user wrote. “Everyday a new reason to leave this country if u r a middle class,” a third user said.
“People need to fear God,” another user wrote.
In 2018, a video of a tea vendor using water from a train toilet to mix with tea emerged on social media. The incident occurred on the Chennai-Hyderabad Express. The vendor was filmed coming out of a toilet with large cans. After the video came to light, Indian Railways launched a probe into the matter and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the vendor, The Hindu reported.
