(Arabic: علي محمد يعقوب; born in 1977) is a Danish-Lebanese professional specialized in Environmental Technology Engineering and provides consultancy in the field of environmental and industrial projects focused on resource efficiency and circular economy for international organizations such as United Nations and European Union and top private firms like McKinsey & Company and Ernst & Young, Atheneum, etc.

Dr. Ali Yaacoub is the youngest son of Cheikh Mohamad Yaacoub, who is the deputy of Imam Musa al-Sadr[1] and disappeared together with Abbas_Bader_el-Dineon the 31st of August on an official visit to Libya invited by President Muammar Gaddafi. Yaacoub is currently taken the role and responsibility as president for the Cheikh Mohamad Yaacoub Foundation for Development[2].

He was born in Lebanon[[1]] at BAALBEK just one year before his father disappearance and then moved to Beirut[[2]] for 3 years before escaping during the civil war to DENMARK at the age of 12 as a political refugee from the civil war in LEBANON.
He possesses a PhD on Environmental & Sustainable Development after having completed a Master’s degree in environmental technology engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Technical University of Denmark DTU.
Dr. Yaacoub profile combines an experience developed in the private, public, and international organizations’ domains. Through his career, he has acted as political and environmental advisor to several international, national and local authorities. His international background has served the implementation, development, and coordination of different UN and EU-funded initiatives, such us the Lebanese Cleaner Production Centre LCPC, Invest In Med, BAT4MED, i-Rexfo, GRECO or the SWITCH-MED Initiative[3]
