(NewsNation) — Authorities in Lancaster County, Nebraska, ruled Tyler Goodrich’s death a suicide following an autopsy performed on his remains.
Goodrich disappeared from his home in Lincoln, Nebraska, in November 2023, leaving his house after a fight with his husband. His remains were found earlier this month near Highway 77.
Investigators said there were no other injuries that would indicate any foul play. They confirmed that Goodrich’s body was preliminarily identified by his tattoos and his identity was later confirmed with dental records.
Goodrich had run out of his home after a physical altercation with his husband, Marshall Vogel. His disappearance kicked off a massive search of the area.
Goodrich’s sister, Felicia Nichelson, told NewsNation she believes there is still more information about the circumstances around his death that needs to come out.
“Tyler was such an important person to so many people. For me, he was my oldest little brother, he was someone who always had a smile on his face, he was someone who brought energy everywhere he went,” Nichelson said. “He was loud, he was funny, he was driven, and he continues to be missed within our family.”
