After an initial US intelligence assessment found Iran’s nuclear program had been set back by only a matter of months by American strikes this weekend, President Donald Trump insisted the country’s nuclear programme had been “obliterated”. Although the CIA has now said Iranian nuclear facilities were “severely damaged”, Trump’s suspicion of intelligence agencies is nothing new.
