‘Okay, wow’: JD Vance reacts to Trump and Musk feud after seeing Elon’s Epstein tweet

JD Vance broke his silence on the feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk during an interview with comedian Theo Von.

The president and the world’s richest man had a public falling out last week after Musk began criticizing Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” calling it a “disgusting abomination” in a June 3 post to X.

Musk later escalated the tensions after claiming that Trump appeared in the still-sealed Jeffrey Epstein files, and that was the reason they had yet to be released.

Trump has since fired back at Musk from his Truth Social platform, threatening to cut the former DOGE head’s government contracts.

During a guest appearance on “This Past Weekend with Theo Von” that aired on Saturday (June 7), the vice president was shown the Epstein tweet and claimed it was his first time seeing it.

“First of all, absolutely not, Donald Trump didn’t do anything wrong with Jeffrey Epstein,” Vance said.

Yemen’s al-Qaida branch leader threatens Trump, Musk and others

The leader of al-Qaida’s Yemen branch has threatened both U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk over the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip in his first video message since taking over the group last year.

The half-hour video message by Saad bin Atef al-Awlaki, which spread online early Saturday via supporters of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, also included calls for lone-wolf militants to assassinate leaders in Egypt, Jordan and the Gulf Arab states over the war, which has decimated Gaza.

The video of al-Awlaki’s speech showed images of Trump and Musk, as well as U.S. Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of State Pete Hegseth. It also included images of logos of Musk’s businesses, including the electric carmaker Tesla.

Trump says Musk to face ‘serious consequences’ if he funds Democrats

Trump told NBC News in an interview that Musk will face “serious consequences” if he chooses to use his significant wealth to fund Democrats.

Musk’s opposition to the Republican spending bill up for debate in Congress could lead the billionaire to fund challengers to Republicans who voted for it.

“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” Trump told NBC News in a phone interview.

“He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” the president added.

Trump told the network he has no intention of trying to repair the relationship.

“I would assume so, yeah,” he said when asked if his relationship with Musk was over.

“I have no intention of speaking to him,” said Trump.

“I think it’s a very bad thing, because he’s very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the President,” he added.

He also rejected the allegation from Musk that he’s in the “Epstein Files.”

“That’s called ‘old news,’ that’s been old news, that has been talked about for years,” Trump told NBC News on Saturday. “Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It’s old news.”

Trump claimed that Musk’s criticism of the spending package has allowed Republican lawmakers to see the benefits of the legislation.

“I think, actually, Elon brought out the strengths of the bill because people that weren’t as focused started focusing on it, and they see how good it is,” said Trump. “So in that sense, there was a big favor. But I think Elon, really, I think it’s a shame that he’s so depressed and so heartbroken.”
