Trump ally Farage rages at Labour help for Democrats amid legal fight – POLITICO

Greg Swenson, chair of Republicans Overseas UK, said it was “uncool” for Labour volunteers to campaign on Harris’ behalf, and branded the move “a mistake.”

Speaking on Times Radio, he said of Farage’s backing for Trump: “They’ve been friends a long time. So the fact that Nigel supports Trump is just because they were friends long before the recent election. So anyway, I think it’s apples and oranges. And I don’t think it ends up hurting Trump to have him.”

Britain’s opposition Conservative Party has avoided wading into the row, although privately, some MPs were scathing about Labour’s help for Harris.

“I think this shows Labour not grasping that they are in government now, which demands a different standard,” said one Conservative MP, granted anonymity to speak frankly.

“It’s student politics stuff — the British government will have to work with whoever wins the race for the White House; that’s mature politics.

“The idea that it’s individuals doing their own thing stretches credulity, and makes rather bold assumptions that the special relationship is inviolable.”

Elon Musk, the owner of X and a staunch supporter of Trump, simply tweeted “Good” in response to the campaign’s complaint.
