Emergency crews raced to the fatal incident in Hulme
A man has died after ‘falling from a height’ at a building site in Manchester on Tuesday afternoon (March 4). Police and paramedics were called to the incident on Greenheys Lane in Hulme at around 3pm.
Emergency crews had been called to a concern for welfare report regarding a man. It is believed he ‘fell from a significant height’ and suffered a cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Forensics also descended on the area amid investigations at the scene with an air ambulance scrambled and landing nearby.
A police investigation is underway into the incident, with an entrance to the building site taped off throughout the afternoon.
Police have not yet confirmed the man’s age or any further circumstances regarding his death. Contracting firm Willmott Dixon have been approached for a comment.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 3pm this afternoon (Tuesday 4 March) we were called by NWAS to reports of concern for welfare of a man on Greenheys Lane, Manchester.
“It’s believed that a man has fallen from a significant height, and suffered a cardiac arrest. Despite the best efforts of those at the scene, the man has been pronounced deceased. A scene remains in place whilst we respond.”
