One of Manchester’s biggest superclubs has unveiled its calendar of events for the year and it will include some big names in the world of music, as well as some very ‘substantial’ changes.

The Warehouse Project, which has been running since 2006, has been recognised by the likes of DJ Mag as being one of the best clubs in the country and has featured some very big names in terms of house, dance, dubstep and garage over the years. It was even named the world’s best club in 2023.

This year’s line-up, with events being held at Depot Mayfield, will run from September 6 to November 22 and will continue the trend of big names with the likes of Annie Mac, Dom Dolla, Aitch, The Blessed Madonna, Confidence Man, Sammy Virji and Leftfield all set to play iconic sets across three months.

The series of shows will conclude with a special Haçienda takeover on November 22 which will be headlined by Primal Scream and Masters at Work, alongside performances from Groove Armada, David Morales, Todd Terry, A Guy Called Gerald and DJ Paulette.

There are also going to be some major changes implemented into this year’s events, which organisers said has been made in response to the ‘cultural shift’ in the clubbing scene in recent years.

One of those changes will be that a number of events will operate on a strict ‘no phones’ policy, similar to how venues like Amber’s have operated. The move aims to encourage fans ‘to stay in the moment and immerse themselves in the music’ without enjoying the event through a camera lens.

The policy will operate at ‘concourse only’ events, including Annie Mac’s Before Midnight (September 6), DJ Heartstring (September 12) and &ME (October 4), and clubbers will be asked to sticker their phone cameras upon entry. There will also be signage across the venue asking people to respect the policy and limit the use of phones to only when necessary.

The Warehouse Project team has said it will be curating a ‘huge archive of professionally shot content’ each night, which will be shared with attendees to be used on their own social media.

The changes will also include a ‘complete overhaul’ of production, with brand new VIP zones and mezzanine areas, alongside a brand new soundsystem, video and lighting installations.

There will also be two big Halloween parties as well as a special takeover from Hacienda legends

There will also be a new entrance to the venue, via Temperance Street on the Archive side of the building, as well as the installation of permanent toilets instead of portaloos.

“We want to take the clubbing experience back to its core, which is being in a room with like-minded people feeling connected through music,” Sam Kandel, the founder of The Warehouse Project, explained of the changes.

“We also want people to have a piece of the night to remember it by and share with friends, which is why we are sharing our amazing content with everyone at the end of the evening.”

The line-up of shows also includes Defected & Glitterbox (October 11), Overmono (October 18), and two big Halloween parties made up of the Warehouse Banger on October 31 and Marlon Hoffstadt presents Party of the Year on November 1.
