This actor has seen a series of highs and lows in his life. He took a hiatus during peak of his career because he confessed to not being able “to handle the fame”. Today, he is one of the most widely critically acclaimed actors. His name is Abhay Deol. Abhay Deol is Dharmendra’s nephew and cousin of Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. But despite this, Abhay has achieved success in his career in a different way. Actor Abhay Deol has many great films to his credit and some blockbuster films as well. But after tasting success, instead of signing a lot of films, Abhay took a long break and left the country.
Abhay Deol signed the film Dev D in 2008. This film was a huge success. It is during this release that he flew to New York to escape the fame.
Speaking of the same with Humans of Bombay, Deol said, “I was finding it hard to deal with the attention and fame because I started getting flashbacks of when I was a kid. I was a sensitive child, and I didn’t like the attention. I liked art, creativity, and the medium. I knew that Dev.D was going to be big, but I didn’t want to be famous. But at the same time, I wanted to act. There was a conflict within me. I focused a lot on the negatives. I hadn’t resolved many issues, so I just ran away because I was afraid of being famous and everything that came with it.”
He too to substance abuse and hit rock bottom. Cut to, he starred in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and rose the success again!
