The LK Group has unveiled its new LK Structures line, in response to changes in the construction sector, including fresh safety regulations. Andy Kuehl has joined to head up the consultancy’s new service.
Founded 25 years previously, LK Structures is a multi-disciplinary geoenvironmental, engineering consultancy. Its team works across the UK with offices in Manchester, Swindon, and Glasgow to deliver ground investigation, land remediation and project management services, as well as supplying a specialist contractor offering.
The UK engineering and construction sector is undergoing a number of changes in the coming years. For example, it will be subject to the Building Safety Act, which puts greater emphasis on ensuring compliance and accountability in building maintenance. To help clients respond to the evolving challenges this presents, the firm has rolled out a new dedicated structural survey solution.

Arriving to lead the new unit is Andy Kuehl, a director who The LK Group has brought in to shape the offering. A highly experienced structural engineer, he brings extensive knowledge of building inspections, structural appraisals, defect diagnosis, and remedial work schemes. Having started his career as a draughtsman, he steadily progressed through the ranks. His dedication and expertise were recognised in 2022 when he achieved IEng status with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Speaking on his new challenge, Kuehl noted, “LK Group is a solutions-driven business, and LK Structures has come out of a direct need to serve the growing needs of the group’s client base. I’m excited to play a vital role in this next chapter, working closely with the team and LK Group’s existing partners to ensure the structural viability of projects for our clients nationwide.”
Kuehl is the latest arrival at The LK Group, which has recently strengthened its team with a trio of hires. This included another new director, associate director and remediation manager. The Greater Manchester-headquartered firm now boasts a team of more than 50 people working nationally.
