Consumers have been raving about one item that’s been flying off the shelves – and it might just be the comfiest garment to complete your capsule winter wardrobe.
Say hello (again) to the iconic early 2000s staple, Jeggings.
If these weren’t on your style bingo card you’re not alone, with fans shocked that this controversial trend is making such a big comeback and it’s thanks to cult Japanese retailer Uniqlo.
‘So jeggings are back, cool,’ a style-watcher noted on Instagram.
‘Is it 2017 again?’ Another fan joked.
Aptly named the EZY Ultra Stretch Jeans, they’re described as ‘timeless denim sweatpants that are sleek, comfy, and effortless.’
And if you’re wondering who can wear these, the answer is everyone thanks to their flattering, slouchy fit listed as unisex.
‘Welcome to jeggings, boys!’ an Instagram stylist commented.

Uniqlo’s EZY’s are described as ‘timeless denim sweatpants that are sleek, comfy, and effortless.’
A millennial’s dream, the jeggings trend originally emerged alongside the resurgence of skinny jeans in the late 2000s, as people sought a more comfortable style of pant.
Particularly popular around 2010, the title ‘jeggings’ entered the Oxford English Dictionary in 2011 thanks to the look of skinny jeans but with all the comfort of leggings.
When it comes to great quality clothing at affordable prices, Uniqlo is the brand that stands out among a sea of other high street alternatives as a reliable destination for all our wardrobe staples.
Known for their perfect signature white T-shirts, cashmere sweaters, 3D Knits and Heattech thermals, Uniqlo’s timeless pieces can be worn for years and years.
At the forefront of the store’s ethos is great quality garments but so is inventing specialty fabrics we never knew we needed, until now.
Take AIRism for example – Uniqlo’s range of breathable bras, shirts, shorts and face masks that have become some of their best sellers to date.
The new EZY’s are indeed following suit as consumers crave comfort as well as style and craftmanship with one garment fulfilling multiple needs.
Luckily, there are five colours to choose from in the new range, all featuring elasticated waist bands and a pile lining that mimics the soft comfort of sweatpants.
