Can hair care help you sleep? I put Stacey Solomon’s brand to the test to see if it can. But there is one thing I wasn’t entirely happy with
I love to sleep, and I know that everyone loves sleep, but sometimes it is my favourite part of the day. I think it’s because I have ADHD and my mind is constantly going 100mph, and the only time it isn’t is when I’m completely asleep, although sometimes it is hard to reach that point with an overactive mind.
When I heard that there was a beauty collection that could potentially improve my chance of a better quality of sleep, I thought ‘sign me up’. So, I tried Rehab’s Beauty Sleep Collection, and here’s what I thought.

In her fly on the wall series on BBC One, Stacey & Joe, she discusses why she decided to invest in Rehab and that she believes in the brand and the products.
She said: “A couple of years ago, I started using a hair care brand, it was a more independent hair care brand, and the only place you could buy it was directly from their website, and I was like, ‘why does no one know about this brand?’. So I got in touch with the ladies who owned it, and I ended up having a meeting with them and I just fell in love with them.”
She added: “I honestly had no idea what I was doing when I invested in Rehab, it’s the first time I did anything like that. I was 100% winging it, I just knew I wanted to apart of that company because I love the girls and I love the product.”

She also explained why she decided to go into hair care. She said: “I have the thickest, coarsest hair and people use products and I’m like, ‘that definitely won’t work for me’, and I always think that if it works on me, it’ll work on the majority of people. I will always test everything out, I mean what kind of business owner are you if you don’t get your products in and try it out a thousand times before you let other people buy them.”
Much like Stacey I have very thick hair, although mine has gone thinner over time as a result of chemical and heat damage. So, I thought I would give the brand’s products a go starting with their Beauty Sleep Collection.
When Rehab’s Beauty Sleep Collection arrived at my door I was pleasantly surprised with how much was included in the package. In total I received a silk pillow case, sleep mask lip oil and a sleep serum hair oil in a lilac toiletry bag.
The toiletry bag itself was quite large and I found it is great for travelling because it will fit a decent amount including an average sized shampoo and conditioner. I also love the colour and how it goes with the lavender theme.
The hair oil left my hair smelling so nice, and it felt very soft and shiny immediately after washing. Despite only using the product a handful of times I’m extremely pleased with the result. I’ve found that what works best for me is applying it all over my hair like a leave in hair oil in preparation for a good hair wash the following day. I definitely think it has done its job in terms of reviving my dry and damaged hair, and hopefully it will work in making my hair healthier in the long term.
My personal favourite product was the lip oil, the smell of lavender was gorgeous and the oil itself left my lips feeling extremely soft, especially as the weather has been getting warmer and lip care is a must. I also loved the metal applicator, which I have never seen on a lip product before. It immediately cooled my lips and left me feeling relaxed before bed, although I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been using it throughout the day too.
The silk pillow case is said to help make smoother and healthier hair and glowing skin, and I think it has absolutely helped smooth my hair and prevented me from waking up with as much frizz as I am used to with my naturally curly hair. The pillow case also has a lovely and smooth cotton side, which leaves both sides cool and calming which also helps with my chaotic hair.
The only thing I would change about the pillow case is the colour, now this could be me being quite fussy, but I’m not a fan of a white pillow case. A pet peeve of mine is when you can see any sort of make-up residue on white sheets, and as much as I scrub my face I always accidentally leave a little bit of make-up. Now, this shows up immediately on this pillow case, and as a rule I genuinely avoid buying white sheets in general because I don’t trust myself around them. So, I would love if the pillow case came in different colour options, specifically dark colours. However, for all of you who love the ‘clean girl aesthetic’ this will be perfect for you.
Now, the big question is did it help me sleep better? Well, in all honesty I’m not too sure how much of an impact it has had on my sleeping pattern itself, but the smell of lavender definitely had its desired effect in calming me and making me feel more relaxed.
The lip oil itself left my lips feeling soft and the hair oil prepared me ready for hair wash day and left my hair feeling softer. Alongside that, both the silk and cotton sides of the pillow case are extremely comfortable and remained quite cool which improved my comfort whilst sleeping.
One review of the kit said: “This amazing sleep set has become part of my evening unwind routine before bed. A great way to get some mindfulness and self care in just before bed.”
Another added: “I have been using rehab for quite some time and have seen a real difference in my hair, the condition has improved and texture is much softer.”
Although one buyer said: “I have seen no difference with the silk pillowcase. Other people are raving about it but I still look like I have a nest in my hair in the morning.”
