“I’ve had many people compliment me saying I have a wonderful glow and ask if I’ve been tanning cause it looks like I’ve come home from a holiday. Couldn’t be happier with the results.”
Beauty buffs have discovered a facial tanning mist that is earning them ‘many compliments’ from people that ‘ask if I’ve been tanning because it looks like I’ve come home from a holiday’. Unlike some faux tan products, it is also earning accolades as it ‘doesn’t transfer and never has’, plus it has a ‘mild fragrance’ and ‘not so much of the biscuit smell you normally get from self tanning products’.
The product in question is the St Tropez Self Tan Purity Face Mist, formulated with non-pore blocking ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, hibiscus and green mandarin. The ultra-light weight, clear facial mist can be spritzed under or over makeup, as a quick and easy way to give complexion a summer glow without the anti-ageing effects of UV rays.
Once applied, it takes around four to eight hours for the tan to develop and there is no rinse needed. Typically, a 80ml bottle would set shoppers back £24, however Amazon have reduced it by 33%, making it £15.98 for a limited time. This deal makes it cheaper on Amazon than it is at Boots, Look Fantastic and Superdrug.

More than 10,000 people have taken to Amazon to review the St Tropez mist, giving it an overall rating of 4.3 out of five stars. Ideal for those that want to get a post-holiday glow now summer is here, users say it gives a ‘natural colour’ that is ‘realistic’.
It is not recommended to tan facial skin in the sun, due to risk of sun damage and premature ageing including wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. A facial tanner provides an easy alternative to this and opting for the St Tropez mist costs less than £16.

It’s not the only popular facial tanning mist on the market – the Oskia Adaptive Tan Mist is £60 at Sephora and users are calling it a ‘game-changer’. One five-star reviewer said: “What’s not to love, spray application, fine mist, stunningly natural but beautiful colour, and you don’t feel like you’ve got tanner on. Thank you for changing my life, Oskia! My search for the perfect fake tan (for face and body) is well and truly over.”
For a cheaper alternative, the Coco & Eve Face Tanning Micromist was £26 but is on sale at Cult Beauty for £16.90. Shoppers love that it is ‘easy to remove’ and ‘gentle on the skin’ – a great option for those with sensitive skin types.
The St Tropez mist has also been praised for its skin-loving formula, that doesn’t cause spots after application. One person said: “Such a nice tan – I’m really fair and this isn’t orange or anything. Works so quickly as well, few pumps before bed and the next morning I’m nice and tan. Most importantly it doesn’t break me out as I’m extremely acne prone.”
Someone else said they take it on holiday and use it alongside a high SPF. They wrote: “This is an excellent product and was recommended to me by my sister. We all know how bad the sun is for our face so this is a great way of getting your face tanned on holiday. Smells nice. Spray it on and cover with factor 50 before you sit in the sun and see a safe tan develop.”
A third explained: “This is literally a two week holiday in the tropics in a bottle. First of all, the tan that it produces is a lovely natural looking deep brown that makes pasty white skin transform in to sun kissed brown. My wife used this. She is fair headed and has pale skin. This transformed her to have a natural looking tan that I have not seen before.”
And a fourth praised its capabilities to not transfer, sharing: “I absolutely love this product! I use it regularly just before I go to bed, so easy to use! Doesn’t stain your bed sheets. Really even, light tan, not patchy at all. Smells great when you apply, slight fake tan smell after a few hours, but nothing overbearing. Small bottle but does last me quite a long time!”
However, be careful when applying the product and make sure to wash hands thoroughly after. Giving this advice, a less satisfied shopper noted: “The downside of this product is my particular spray has a leaky nozzle and gets all over hands, which is annoying. The other is make sure you lift your head if spraying your neck to blend including under the chin. Use a light tan on rest of body to make sure you do not have a more orange face and neck. It can look uneven if not blended well on neck and chin.”
But, another customer sang its praises, leaving a review that reads: “Such a lovely scent and not so much of the biscuit smell you normally get from self tanning products. The colour developed in a few hours and very subtle and natural.
“Unlike other products I didn’t have to do much of skin prep – I applied on clean and washed face and body, very easy application. The bottle may be ‘small’ but lasts long and you don’t need much for each application. Out of all the products I’ve tried, St Tropez always delivers the best result for me, looks very natural. Highly recommended!”
