Southwest Airlines customers have been left bitterly divided after one passenger exposed a service worker’s odd behavior.

Tricey B took to TikTok to share a video of the surprising encounter that saw a female agent for the airline browsing shops online while dealing with a customer.

In the clip, the content creator was sat behind the Southwest Airlines counter where she could clearly see the computer screen.

The employee appeared to be nonchalantly chatting to the plane passenger but, at the same time, was also scrolling through a selection of shoes and purses.

The customer being served was seemingly unaware of what was going on but Tricey soon caught on.

She added overlaid text to the video that read: ‘When you at the customer service counter and the agent is shopping. Southwest Airlines.’

And the unusual encounter prompted a slew of heated comments on both sides of the debate.

Some were shocked by the agent’s actions while others defended her, admitting that they do the same at their jobs.

‘God forbid a working lady multitask,’ one user joked.

‘I do this at work to? Y’all don’t?’ another claimed.

‘The lady is still helping the customer. So does it matter?’ someone asked, while another wrote, ‘That’s actually WILDDDDD.’

‘Maybe they are talking about shoes. The customer seems happy with the employee’s responses. She’s just smiling,’ a user observed.

‘She is doing her job, she’s speaking with the customer. Show the entire story,’ another insisted.

One comment read: ‘I hope Southwest people get this. This is why people are losing their minds at the airport.’

Some people also questioned why Tricey was filming the employee in the first place.

‘Remind me why are we filming people?’ someone questioned.

Daily Mail has contacted Southwest Airlines for comment.

The airline recently made a major change to on-flight protocol after years of customer complaints.

Southwest Airlines revealed that it was rolling out a costly fix to address the bizarre issue of exploding soda cans.

The eruptions occur when cans have been left in high temperatures for too long.

Key hubs such as Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, were hit particularly badly by the problem last summer when ground temperatures exceeded more than 110 degrees.

Southwest has now invested millions of dollars in new refrigerated provisioning trucks for the two hottest hubs.

The previous trucks, which hold the necessary food and beverages for a new flight before they are loaded onto the aircraft, did not have air conditioning.

The new trucks are kept much cooler at 40 degrees and double up as cooling stations for the ground crew.
