Sonu Sood’s philanthropic activities during the pandemic made him a hero in the eyes of the masses. He continued supporting those in need even after the pandemic, and to this day, hundreds of people line up outside his house in search of aid. In a recent interview, Sonu was asked about the time when his house was raided by Income Tax officials investigating allegations that he evaded Rs 20 crore in taxes. Sonu said that they were simply doing their duty, and he expected that there would be some obstacles in his path.
In a chat with Jist, Sonu said that there aren’t any locks on any of the cupboards in his house. “None of the cupboards in my house have any locks on them. Even my house does not any locks. In my house, when we wake up in the morning, we open the gate so anyone can come in. This has been the case for many years now. I am comfortable saying this on camera, it’s completely okay,” he said.
Sonu then spoke about the IT officials coming over to his house in September 2021 and said, “When they came over, they saw everything. They were doing their duty and I was doing mine. Even at that time, there were thousands of people who were queued up outside my house.” The Dabangg actor said that this was “an experience” in itself and added that he expected some obstacles on his chosen path.

“Whatever path you choose in life, you will face some obstacles. If you think you can go on smoothly and there will be no troubles, it’s not possible. So I think you should be prepared for that and I was prepared for that. People can troll you, bother you, but you can’t stop working. I continued, and eventually everything was sorted out. Its been 4 and a half years now and people still queue up outside my house,” he said.
In an earlier appearance on Aap Ki Adalat in 2023, Sonu claimed that the IT officials did not find any incriminating evidence against him. When asked about the money that his company received in 2021, Sonu said that 80 percent of that money came from his earnings as he had instructed brands that he worked for to direct payment to his foundation, instead of paying him.
