Written and directed by Crowley (Middle Man), Killing Faith is billed as a cinematic, genre-bending western, mixing action and suspense against a plague-ridden landscape.
Pearce plays Dr. Bender, a faithless physician who agrees to escort an anguished mother (Wise) and her afflicted daughter on a journey across a treacherous desert. The mother is determined to reach a remote preacher-physician (Pullman) in the hope of finding a cure for her daughter’s mysterious illness.
Crowley and David Martin produced the film along with Jordan Dykstra and Ellen Wander of Film Bridge International, and Zori Davidkova and Wes Hager of Triple Seven Pictures.
Executive producers include Summer Crockett Moore and Tony Glazer of Choice Films, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, and Grady Craig of BondIt Media, and Justin Hawkins and Ben Demaree of Volcanic Films.
“Having Bill Pullman join the cast was a dream come true. He, DeWanda, and Guy are all actors’ actors who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty with morally complex characters. In fact, it’s so great to see Guy finally get his due with an Oscar nod for The Brutalist. He deserves it,” said Crowley.
Shout’s SVP of Acquisitions and Originals Jordan Fields said Killing Faith marked an exciting addition for the western genre.
““You haven’t seen a Western like this,” he said.
“Ned and his team have succeeded on all fronts: a sensational cast playing memorable characters; a provocative story that deftly weaves menace, heroism, wit and hope into history; and a stunning visual experience that does justice to the genre.”
