The average house price in this affluent part of the region is £950,838
A dream home has come up for grabs in Greater Manchester’s most exclusive area, and it has its very own infinity pool and an impressive supercar turntable. Bowdon, a suburb of Altrincham in Trafford, is where you’ll most likely find the region’s super-rich residents.
The affluent area boasts pretty tree-lined avenues, leafy green spaces and grand mansions set amongst their own private land. With the average house price in the area at a staggering £950,838 over the last 12 months, according to Zoopla, it is no surprise that Bowdon is Greater Manchester’s most expensive area to live.
On average, detached properties here cost around £1.3 million, whilst a terraced house will sell for £739,577. And at the top of the market are huge seven-bed houses like this, which has now come on the market for a whopping £4.95 million.
Initially listed for sale at £5.25 million in January this year, the property’s asking price was slashed by £300,000 in February in a bid to attract more, albeit wealthy, buyers.
The detached home is nothing short of aspirational, spanning around 9,560 square foot of stylish living space. You enter the home into a large hallway which has a double-height, glass-fronted dining area overlooking the rear garden.
The T-shaped layout links various reception rooms on the ground floor, such as a formal lounge, study, bar area and a cinema room with a Sony 4K projector.
The hub of the home is the spacious open-plan kitchen living and dining area, which has an oversized island, a lounge area, and bi-fold doors opening onto a rear terrace.
Also on the ground floor is the luxury leisure suite which overlooks the garden. It has a 38 foot infinity pool and steam room, with sliding doors that open out onto the central garden which features a built-in fire pit, patio and a large lawn.
Down into the lower ground floor is an elegant lounge area with a bar, games room and wine cellar, all centred around a spectacular supercar turntable. Glazed windows and feature lighting spotlight the chosen vehicle, which in this case is a red Ferrari, making it a unique feature of the home.
Upstairs are seven large bedrooms, spread across the first and second floors, as well as six bath or shower rooms. The master bedroom is particularly eye-catching, spanning 25 foot and featuring a hidden, fully-fitted dressing room as well as an en-suite with a separate shower, standalone bath and twin vanity.
Bedroom seven, which is up on the second floor, can function as a self-contained studio apartment with its own kitchenette and dressing room. There is also a gym that overlooks the swimming pool and has access to a roof terrace.
Estate agents Savills, who are marketing the property, says: “An exquisite luxury residence offering impressive leisure, technology, and security, ideally located in the highly sought-after area of Bowdon.
“Finished to the highest standard and meticulously maintained, the property seamlessly blends imposing contemporary architecture with a premium designer interior. Standout features include a ground-floor swimming pool and a turntable showcase supercar garage.”
The listing continues: “Set back from the main road, the property is secured behind electric gates, with a multi-car driveway and landscaped front gardens.
“The technology in the home is aligned with its exceptional quality, incorporating Crestron Home Automation and Lutron lighting. The security system is equally impressive, with extensive CCTV coverage and enhanced alarm features.
“A key design feature of the property is the seamless connection between the rear living spaces and the outdoors. The kitchen, dining hall, and swimming pool all open onto the garden from different sides, creating an exceptional indoor/outdoor living and leisure area, perfect for entertaining.”
