Former prime minister Scott Morrison wants his family photo album returned after it was mistakenly donated to an op shop in Sydney’s south.
Charlie Foo stumbled upon personal images of Morrison and his family inside an old album at the Salvation Army on West Botany Street in Rockdale, according to a video she shared to TikTok.
“When you randomly find a photo album at the op shop, look inside and realise it’s Scott Morrison former Australian (prime minister)” she wrote.
The photos show a young Morrison enjoying Port Douglas in Far North Queensland while attending the Tourism Task Force Directors Meeting.
Before entering politics, he worked in the tourism sector as director of New Zealand’s Office of Tourism and Sport and managing director of Tourism Australia.
The photos also captured Morrison’s trip with his wife Jenny to London, in the United Kingdom, and Dublin, in Ireland, from 1996 to 1997.
Morrison in a statement said he would be grateful if the album is returned to his family.
“We would be grateful if [it] could be returned to us, if possible, as It was a private album mistakenly and unknowingly included in a box of items we donated to the Salvos,” he said.
“If someone has it they can return it to the Salvos at Rockdale and they will make sure it gets back to us.”
Morrison, who was Australia’s 30th prime minister from 2018 to 2022, announced his retirement from politics in January 2024 to “take on new challenges in the global corporate sector and spend more time with my family”.
He now works as a non-executive vice chairman at global consulting firm American Global Strategies.
