Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Investment Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh on Thursday praised the Pakistan-Saudi relations and appreciated the vast opportunities for economic cooperation.
Speaking at the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Forum, he acknowledged Pakistan’s recent economic stabilization efforts and announced that Saudi Arabia is fully committed to helping Pakistan achieve further economic stability.
He further revealed that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir had assured to set up a single-window counter in Saudi Arabia to facilitate investments in Pakistan.
Earlier today, COAS General Asim Munir met with the Saudi minister and expressed gratitude for the Kingdom’s continued support to Pakistan.
According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting “focused on matters of mutual interest, particularly initiatives to strengthen evergrowing brotherly bilateral cooperation in a variety of sectors”.
Their discussion also revolved around strengthening bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities.
The army chief praised King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for supporting Pakistan. He also expressed the country’s full support for ongoing initiatives, which include substantial Saudi investments in infrastructure and mining projects.
ISPR added that the manifestation of one of the largest business delegation’s visits to Pakistan reaffirms the enduring and fraternal ties between the two countries.
The Saudi Investment Minister also separately met President Asif Ali Zardari. He acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic geographical importance and its potential for natural resources and renewable energy. He noted that Saudi Arabia is keen to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s diverse sectors and contribute to its economic growth.
The Saudi minister’s three-day official visit is expected to result in the signing of 27 agreements in various sectors, including infrastructure, mining, agriculture, and information technology.
