Saudi Arabia Announces New Budget Airline

Saudi Arabia has revealed plans to launch a new low-cost airline that will operate with a fleet of 45 aircraft by 2030.

According to state media, the airline will be based at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and will handle both domestic and international flights.

The country’s aviation authority confirmed that Air Arabia, a budget carrier from the United Arab Emirates, is part of a three-company consortium that won the bid to operate the airline.

The new airline is expected to connect 24 cities within Saudi Arabia and 57 international destinations, aiming to serve 10 million passengers each year.

This move is part of the kingdom’s broader strategy to strengthen its aviation sector and boost connectivity in line with Vision 2030.
