“I never thought I’d see this age and after that accident,” she said.
The great-grandmother was struck by a car in Palmyra in December, as she was getting off the bus.
“Fortunately I have no recollection whatsoever,” she said.
The now-90-year-old was in hospital for months with multiple broken bones and a 63-year-old man was charged over the crash.
“I had a broken pelvis, a broken shin, I’ve got a rod in my leg and I had a fracture on this ankle,” she said.
Her remarkable recovery impressing her grandchildren, who were able to celebrate her 90th birthday together.
“It’s nice to be with the family,” grandson Daniel Kerr said.
“Especially with where Nan has come from in the last six months. It’s really nice to just be here in general.”
“She’s gone through her rehabilitation really well, she’s got a really positive attitude.”
Levi Kerr also impressed by his grandmother’s strength.
“She walked into the room which was a massive achievement which was nice to see,” he said.
Sam Kerr was in London for the event but the grandmother fondly remembered the football superstar.
“Yes, we’re very close, yes,” Coral said.
After three months in hospital, yesterday was extra special for Coral, who was surrounded by her family and friends.
“I’ve had a very fruitful and happy and joyous life,” she said.
“That’s all I can say and I’m ever grateful for that.”
