RSM unveils AI partnership with IntellixCore

Specialist AI consultancy IntellixCore will help RSM to super-charge its AI plans in the UK. The news comes as RSM moves to power its audit, tax and consulting services with AI technology.

According to a report from LexisNexis, 80% of management consultants are already using Gen AI-based tools in their daily tasks, with more than a third reporting they use it as part of half of their working processes. This high adoption rate reflects not just enthusiasm for new technology, but – as consultancies market themselves as implementation partners to clients – a perception in the sector that firms need to be seen as technologically progressive.

As it leans into this trend, RSM has made the bold announcement that it plans to “become the UK’s leading AI-powered audit, tax and consulting firm, transforming how it delivers value to clients.” As it looks to push ahead with that lofty ambition, the firm has penned a new partnership with IntellixCore.

Billed as an “Agentic AI and Machine Learning orchestration platform”, IntellixCore allows users to “create and deploy intelligent agents such as chatbots, predictive models, and process co-pilots using customisable large language models.” This platform will now underpin RSM’s transformation to an AI-centric operating model, with the company envisaging a time when its staff “work seamlessly alongside AI agents tuned to the firm’s methodologies and regulatory frameworks.”

Chris Knowles, chief digital officer at RSM, said, “We have already made significant progress, including training all our people on core generative AI skills. We have built AI into our tax solutions, such as our market-leading Tax Insight platform, to help our clients achieve global tax compliance. We are embedding it into advanced data analytics within our audit services, and our consulting practice is helping our clients to carve a tailored path to responsible AI adoption. This new partnership will allow us to further innovate our client solutions.”

Career opportunities

As the largest professional services firms trim their headcount, and push back on pay and conditions, they do so while implementing new AI programmes. But according to RSM’s CEO Rob Donaldson, the firm’s implementation will seek to offer “terrific career opportunities for those keen to build deep digital skills in the professional services industry.” He added that the technology was about “empowering our people to go the extra mile for our clients by releasing them from the more routine, less rewarding tasks.”

Sultan Mahmood, CEO of IntellixCore, added, “Our partnership with RSM reflects a shared vision of what enterprise AI should be. The future of work is about human workers interacting seamlessly with autonomous agents in ways that genuinely drive value, especially for customers. Our partnership puts RSM in a powerful position to be the first professional services firm to truly embrace digital intelligence and reimagine how clients experience audit, tax and consulting services.”
