Only five per cent of British people have a positive view of Prince Andrew, and that was before he embarrassed his family further with revelations of his ties to a suspected Chinese spy.

The eighth in line to the throne has languished on the margins of royal life since 2019 when he was relieved of all his remaining official duties and his pariah status was cemented over his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

It seemed he could sink no lower but, his flair for foolishness apparently infinite, he has gone and done it, plunging new depths with his links to businessman Yang Tengbo, who is now banned from Britain.
