Restructuring specialist Leonard Curtis launches M&A advisory offering

Leonard Curtis, a restructuring and turnaround specialist, is eyeing expansion into the transactions space, bringing Toby Rolls on board to lead its new M&A advisory service line.

Manchester-headquartered Leonard Curtis is one of UK’s largest restructuring consultancies, operating with over 300 people and 30 offices across the UK and offshore. The consulting firm offers SMEs and corporates in distressed situations a range of restructuring, legal, funding and business services.

The new M&A Advisory practice will sit alongside the firm’s core restructuring expertise, and support financial transactions that follow from restructuring engagements (distressed deals). The arm will also support companies and investors on growth-led deals.

The practice will work closely with the Performance Advisory division of Leonard Curtis, which provides cost-reduction and process improvement advice, and with the firm’s recently acquired VirtualNonExecs business, which specialises in connecting companies and investors with non-executive and chair professionals.

“M&A Advisory is the logical next step in developing our existing range of client solutions,” said Leonard Curtis chief executive Daniel Booth on the portfolio expansion.

Led by Toby Rolls

Leading the M&A Advisory practice is Toby Rolls, who brings over two decades of experience in mergers & acquisitions. He previously worked for both large and mid-market M&A firms, where he originated and executed transactions across the private and public markets for entrepreneurs and family offices, private equity firms and larger corporates. Rolls also worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch.

Commenting on his new role, Rolls said: “I am excited to join Leonard Curtis and lead a new M&A Advisory service, working with the leadership team to realise its potential, and helping clients achieve their financial and strategic goals.”

“A core strength of Leonard Curtis is its personalised, hands-on approach. We will bring this to M&A Advisory, working closely with our clients to understand and achieve their desired outcomes and build strong, trusted relationships.”
