Remo D’Souza attends Mahakumbh Mela in disguise, video of choreographer taking holy dip in Prayagraj goes viral | Trending News

The Mahakumbh Mela 2025 has captivated devotees across the globe. The world’s largest religious congregation prompted several celebrities, including Anupam Kher and Sudha Murty, to take a holy dip at Sangam, Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. Now, choreographer Remo D’Souza is making waves on social media for keeping a low-profile at Mahakumbh Mela.

Dressed in disguise in all-black traditional attire, D’Souza immersed in the holy waters. In a viral video, he can be seen covering his face and blending with the crowd at the Mela. The choreographer further enjoys a boat ride in the Sangam.

With over 22 million views, the video has evoked a range of reactions. “This is how secular Bharat looks like,” a user wrote. “This is the best feeling ever,” another user commented.

In another post, he, along with his wife Lizelle, was seen meeting Niranjan Peethadishwar Shri Shri 1008 Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Pujya Swami Kailashanand Giriji Maharaj at the event.

Earlier, philanthropist and author Sudha Murty attended the Mahakumbh Mela. Speaking to ANI, she applauded the arrangements at the event, describing them as “clean, safe, divine, grand, and digital”.

The Mahakumbh Mela began on January 13 with more than 40 crore devotees taking a holy dip at Sangam, which is the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. As reported by ANI, more than 102 million people have taken holy dips. The event will conclude on February 26.
