DURBIN, W.Va. — A Randolph County man is being held on $600,000 bail after being charged with killing a man in Pocahontas County on New Year’s Day.

State Police troopers allege Jason Brickles, 47, of Valley Head, pulled up to a residence in Durbin Wednesday and began shooting at a house. One of those shots struck and killed Christopher Matheny. Brickles is charged with second degree murder and six counts of wanton endangerment with a firearm.
There were a total of six people inside the home including children. There were no other injuries reported.
