Raid 2 trailer: Ajay Devgn declares himself the ‘entire Mahabharat’ as he gears up to uproot Riteish Deshmukh’s corrupt empire | Bollywood News

Raid 2 trailer: After throwing the tainted Rameshwar Singh (Saurabh Shukla) behind bars, Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn) is set for his second battle, this time against Dada Manohar Bhai (Riteish Deshmukh). “Do you see the armed men inside?” one of Bhai’s men asks Patnaik as a warning, to which he replies, “Do you see the government officials outside?” underscoring the power of the law and his belief in it. But the task is not simple. “The CM doesn’t really run the government there; Dada Bhai does,” he is warned. Yet, for a righteous officer — who has conducted 74 raids in his honest career — this doesn’t scare him at all.

Thus begins the trailer for director Raj Kumar Gupta’s upcoming crime thriller Raid 2, a sequel to the filmmaker’s 2018 superhit Raid. Much like the original film, Raid 2 takes a deep dive into the dark alleys of our system, where power and corruption blend inextricably, and presents the narrative as a high-stakes drama. Although Patnaik is fully prepped, will he be able to expose Bhai, who is always one step ahead?

The remainder of the promo video offers further glimpses into the movie’s enthralling and gripping world. “You are bound to get angry when you get entrapped in the Chakravyuha,” Patnaik tells Bhai towards the end of the trailer, to which he replies, “Since when did the Pandavas start laying the Chakravyuha?” At that moment, Patnaik reminds him that he is not just the Pandavas, but the entire Mahabharat.

Also starring Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak and Amit Sial, Raid 2 features Vaani Kapoor as the female lead, replacing Ileana D’Cruz, who played the role in the 2018 film. The movie also boasts cinematography by Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary, editing by Sandeep Francis, background score by Amit Trivedi and music by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Amit Trivedi, Rochak Kohli, Sachet-Parampara and White Noise Collectives. Raid 2 will hit the screens on May 1, coinciding with International Workers’ Day.
