Prince Harry wants to “reconcile” with the Royal Family but has admitted that his father is not speaking to him. The astonishing interview comes following the Duke of Sussex’s failed Court of Appeal challenge concerning his security arrangements in the UK.

Prince Harry revealed to the BBC, in an interview that was filmed in America, that his father, the King, is no longer in communication with him due to these security issues, stating: “He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”

He said the ruling meant it was ‘impossible’ for him to bring his family to the UK and he couldn’t imagine moving back to the UK now.

He continued: “For the time being it is impossible for me to bring my family back to the UK safely.

“I will continue on with a life of public service. So I will always support the charities and the people that mean so much to me.

“I can’t envision a scenario where I’d bring my wife and kids back to the UK at this point, they’d miss everything they know.

“I love my country, always have, despite what some people there have done. Of course, I miss parts of the UK.

“It’s quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

He also said he had not asked his father to help with the security battle, adding: “I’ve never asked him to intervene. I’ve asked him to step out.

“I step out of the way and let the experts do their job. The Ravec committee is an expert committee full of professionals plus the royals.”

He further added: “Five years on, every single visit I make to the UK has to go through the Royal household.

“My representative on the Ravec committee still to this day is the Royal household.

“That’s not a decision that I choose. I am forced to go through the Royal household and accept that they are putting my best interests forward during these conversations and deliberations.

“So no, I haven’t asked my father to intervene.”

The Duke had appealed against the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office over the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the UK.

He previously said it was not safe for Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, or wife Meghan, to come to his home country without taxpayer-funded police protection.

This afternoon, Sir Geoffrey Vos, Lord Justice Bean and Lord Justice Edis dismissed Harry’s appeal.
