Police said they witnessed “shocking behaviour” outside Wollescote Primary School

The Monday morning school-run proved expensive for some after police witnessed “shocking behaviour”. Officers warned poor parkers that fines were “in the post”.

Halesowen Police visited Wollescote Primary School on the back of “serious concerns for safety”. The team said they’d received complaints of “near misses” due to “vehicles parking on and near the crossing”.

Snaps from a morning spent outside the Drummond Road school were posted to X this afternoon (February 10), as the team urged parents to “park it, don’t plonk it”. One picture showed a Mercedes, which had stopped inches from the crossing, as someone got out of the back door.

Similar images were also captured featuring a Renault and a Hyundai. All three vehicles were pulled up over white zig-zag lines, which indicate no parking or overtaking near pedestrian crossings.

An accompanying message read: “Halesowen NHT attended Wollescote Primary School after serious concerns for safety after near misses, regarding vehicles parking on and near the crossing. Shocking behaviour witnessed, as parents dropped their children to school. Fines are in the post!”
