Mohammed Afzal died in a car park next to Bury College on Friday night
Police investigating the death of a teenager in a Bury car park have made two more arrests on suspicion of murder this evening (August 4).
Emergency services were called to Market Street shortly before 9pm on Friday (August 1). A 19-year-old was found with multiple stab wounds in the car park of the Powerleague football complex, next to Bury College.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he passed away at the scene. Today he has been named as Mohammed Afzal.
Police described it as “a violent and tragic incident that was witnessed by a lot of people”.

Shortly after his death, officers arrested three 19-year-old men on suspicion of murder, including one at Manchester Airport.
Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the investigation, and Mohammed’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “Officers have worked non-stop for the past few days, resulting the arrest of five people on suspicion of murder.
“While our investigation is still in its very early days, we are making good progress with our various lines of enquiry, and I want thank those who have come forward with information to assist us.
“As this work continues, we would still ask anyone with information to get in touch with us – either by calling us directly or getting in touch with Crimestoppers anonymously.”
