Police suspect the fire was started deliberately destroying cars and quad bikes
This is the destruction that was caused after a suspected arson in Caerphilly. Officers for Gwent Police say they are investigating the incident which took place in Abercarn on Monday, June 16. Pictures show how cars, quad bikes, a motorbike and a garage unit have been badly damaged.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward to have with their investigations. They are also encouraging anyone who has information, CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.
A statement from Gwent Police read: “Officers investigating a report of arson in Abercarn on Monday, June 16, are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage following a report of a large fire in a garage unit in High Street, Abercarn at around 6.20pm on Monday, June 16.”
The statement added: “Officers are investigating after five cars, a caravan, two quad bikes, a motorbike and the garage unit have been badly damaged.
“Officers attended alongside South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
“Anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, is asked to contact us via the website, by calling 101 or sending a direct message on Facebook or X and quoting 2500190230.”
