Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been without a club since his suspension from professional football was lifted in March
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has hinted that he could be close to signing for a new club after sharing a training video in the United States.
Pogba left United in 2022 at the expiry of his contract and immediately rejoined Juventus. A year later, the Frenchman was banned after testing positive for DHEA – a substance that can increase the testosterone in the body.
On appeal, Pogba’s ban was reduced to 18 months after it was satisfied that he did not take the substance purposefully. In December, despite his ban set to be lifted in March, the Frenchman agreed to mutually terminate his contract with Juve leaving him a free agent to discover other opportunities.
He remained without a club following the January transfer window and while he is now free to compete once again, Pogba remains without a club. However, there has been speculation that he could join MLS side Inter Miami after spending plenty of time in the city and visiting Sir David Beckham on matchdays.
Pogba has been keeping his fitness up in the American city and on social media yesterday shared the message: “Here I come,” before posting a video at Miami Hurricanes training ground. The Hurricanes are an American Football team based at the University of Miami.
Later that day, Pogba caught up with some of his ex-United teammates in Miami at the Club World Cup. Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero, Edinson Cavani and Ander Herrera shared a picture with Pogba at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami as their new club Boca Juniors drew 2-2 with Benfica in the opening match of their Club World Cup campaign.
Herrera was sent off during the clash for dissent, one of three dismissals in total. Ex-United man Angel Di Maria scored from the penalty spot in the draw.
