Patience key in politics, says Sanjay Raut after MNS leader suggests ‘minions should not talk’ about Thackerays’ possible alliance | Mumbai News

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday advised Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders to be patient and optimistic amid speculations of a possible alliance between Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS founder Raj Thackeray.

“In politics, one should always be patient and optimistic. Some people still need to be trained in this. Politics does not work by being superficial. When it is a question of Maharashtra’s identity, when it is a question of the just rights of the Marathi people, one has to be patient. No one knows better than me what is going to happen and what is not going to happen. Whoever says anything is like a fool, it does not make sense,” the Rajya Sabha MP said.

On Sunday morning, MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande had criticised Raut saying that he should not comment on the alliance. “The leaders of both parties will take a decision on the alliance. The minions should not talk,” Deshpande said.

Raut responded by saying that earlier people believed that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) would not be formed. “But still, a government of the Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena was formed in Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray became the chief minister,” he said, advising Deshpande that people coming into politics should study a little before speaking.

After dropping hints that the party is preparing to join hands with Raj Thackeray’s MNS, Sena (UBT) leaders have expressed optimism regarding the alliance. At a party function held last week, Uddhav said that things will work out as per the wishes of the people of Maharashtra, hinting that matters were moving forward in a positive manner.

However, despite the workers of both parties coming together for various occasions, no official meetings have taken place between the two Thackerays yet.
