Drivers inside the I-93 tunnel in Boston had to deal with significant flooding along part of the roadway Wednesday night.

Instagram user @mariabarajas_  told Boston.com she and her fiancé were driving from the Seaport to the Liberty Hotel just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night when they shot video from inside the flooded tunnel. She provided Boston.com with a video clip of the scene.

In a social media post, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation reported they closed the I-90 westbound exit 135 off-ramp to I-93 around 9 p.m. An update to that post about an hour later said MassDOT crews were responding to the flooding and working to reopen the ramp.

MassDOT told WCVB-TV a combination of a pump failure and debris buildup caused the flooding.
