Pakistan makes waves at LEAP 2025, the world’s most-attended tech event, bringing together global innovators, thought leaders and enterprises to explore cutting-edge technologies and new frontiers in the digital world. This year at LEAP marked Pakistan’s largest-ever participation at an international tech event, with over 100 companies and more than 1,000 delegates participating and representing the country’s thriving IT sector.
The event kicked off with the Pak-Saudi Business Forum, bringing together over 400 attendees from both countries to explore collaboration opportunities in IT and digital transformation. Pakistan Pavilion was inaugurated on Day 1 by Minister of State for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and H.E. Deema Al Yahya Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), along with Secretary IT Mr. Zarrar Hasham, Ambassador of Pakistan to KSA H.E. Ahmad Farooq, CEO PSEB Mr. Abu Bakar, and Chairman PASHA Mr. Sajjad Syed.
The pavilion showcased Pakistan’s top IT firms, startups, and service providers, highlighting cutting-edge solutions in AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and much more. Throughout the event, the Minister held key meetings with Saudi tech giants, government representatives, and industry leaders, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to international collaboration in digital transformation.
Several MoUs and contracts were signed between Pakistani IT firms and global tech companies, marking a significant step toward expanding Pakistan’s footprint in international markets. Pakistan was also represented through high-profile speaking slots, with Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja participating in a panel discussion on the main stage of LEAP, and Mr. Abu Bakar, CEO PSEB, speaking on empowering startups through global collaboration.
Minister of State for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, highlighted the success of Pakistan’s participation, stating: “LEAP 2025 has been an incredible platform to showcase Pakistan’s digital capabilities to the world. Our tech sector is thriving, and the partnerships formed here will accelerate our journey towards a more connected, innovative, and technology-driven Pakistan.”
CEO of PSEB, Abu Bakar, emphasized the significance of international collaborations, saying: “Pakistan’s IT industry is at a turning point, and global engagements like LEAP 2025 provide invaluable opportunities for growth. The partnerships and MoUs signed here will create new avenues for investment and business expansion.”
Chairman PASHA, Sajjad Syed, echoed this sentiment, adding: “Pakistan’s presence at LEAP 2025 reflects the strength and potential of our IT ecosystem. We have demonstrated that Pakistan is a key player in the global tech landscape.”
