Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced on Friday the launch of the Benazir Hari Card, a new initiative aimed at supporting more than 200,000 farmers across the province.
The card will provide eligible farmers with subsidies and access to modern agricultural machinery, helping to boost productivity and promote sustainable farming practices.
In addition to the Benazir Hari Card, the Chief Minister revealed that the government will offer subsidies for drip irrigation systems. This move is intended to encourage environmentally friendly agriculture and improve water efficiency in Sindh’s farming sector.
The announcement came as part of the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025–26. The Sindh government also proposed a reduction of up to Rs1,000 in taxes on commercial vehicles, aiming to ease the financial burden on transporters.
Furthermore, the budget includes a proposal to cut mutation and sales fees from Rs1,000 to Rs500, making land transactions more affordable for citizens.
These measures reflect the Sindh government’s commitment to supporting farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture, and providing financial relief to the province’s residents.
