Amanda Owen’s rarely-seen son Sid is his mum’s double in new photo – fans react

Standing shoulder to shoulder with her son Sidney Owen, Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen radiated good health.

However, it wasn’t her glowing appearance that sparked a buzz on social media – it was the uncanny resemblance her son bore to his well-known mum.

In a seldom-shared photo of her son, affectionately known as Sid, the duo looked closer than ever, with him standing tall above his mother. Fans were astounded by their striking similarity.

This followed their recent endeavour to restore an old, mud-engulfed tractor.

Despite the challenge, Amanda, a mother to nine, remained positive about bringing the beleaguered machine back to life.

The image prompted fans to take to social media to share their admiration.

One fan remarked: “You’re an inspiration to women and young girls.”, reports the Mirror.

Another praised: “Well done Sid, you’re growing up so quickly @yorkshireshepherdess, beautiful picture of you and Sid together.”

A third commented on how Sid is ” looking so grown up.”

Following in his parents’ footsteps, Sid is training his own sheepdog and tending to his flock of sheep.

While Sid contemplates a future in farming, his older brother Reuben is already delving into the field.

During a recent episode of The Farmer’s Guardian podcast, he shared his ambition to manage his own farm someday.

He said: “My ultimate goal, once I have enough diggers going, is to have my own farm around here.

“I definitely want to carry on farming, and I appreciate it more since I have not been around the farm as much.”

He further stated: “It is lovely; it is the place I want to be.”

However, not too long ago, the family found themselves in a state of upheaval.

In November of the previous year, Amanda embarked on a renovation project of a building close to her farm in Ravenseat, Swaledale.

She confessed at the time that she was unsure who would reside with her as the work progressed.

Speaking to BBC Radio York, she said: “I think this project is the very solid foundations for something for the children.

“Don’t ask me who’s going to move in, I’ve no idea. But I have plenty of people who are vying to move in.”

She went on to say: “It’s all about looking to the future, the children and making it that they have the ability to stay around here and to be able to find work around here.”

She further added: “When you live in a tenanted place, like Ravenseat, it is home and I love the place, but in the middle of the night when you’re having a bit of a stress and a worry of course you think to yourself ‘but actually, it’s not mine’. So it’s about security.”
