Police identified the victim as Paul Scott Landymore, 63, of Ottawa.
No arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service confirmed four paramedic units were on scene Saturday night just after 7 p.m., and one adult was transported to the trauma centre.
Dan Desnoyers has been living in the neighbourhood with his wife for five years. He said he didn’t see what happened last night but recalled seeing three police cars in front of his house.
“All I saw was just police cars on the street, lights flashing. That’s it. I was walking the dog at one point, but I didn’t see anything. I didn’t know what was going on,” he told the Ottawa Citizen.
This is the second homicide in the neighbourhood since they moved, he added. Homicide detectives were on the scene Saturday morning investigating the incident.

“It doesn’t happen that often, but it does happen. It’s a bit of a rough neighborhood sometimes,” Desnoyers said.
“I thought I’d maybe get a knock on the door today, maybe from the police who are investigating, but we didn’t know anything about it until just this morning.”
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service homicide unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.
