Anora won five of the biggest awards on offer at the 97th Academy Awards
The 2025 Oscars are in the history books as indie-darling Anora won big at the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday night (March 2).
Heading into the award ceremony, held at Los Angelus’ Dolby Theatre, many were predicting The Brutalist or Conclave to win big following weeks of build-up.
While this year’s crop of winners were spread across 14 films, including documentaries and shorts, Anora won five of the biggest awards on offer.
Starring rising actress Mikey Madison, previously best known for her supporting roles in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Scream 5, Anora tells the tale of a young stripper who lives her own Cinderella story after meeting the son of a Russian oligarch.
After Christopher Nolan’s big-budgeted Oppenheimer sweapt last year, it truly feels like the Academy are more varied with their approach than ever before.
Below are all of the winners at the 2025 Oscars.
