OxygenOS has been one of the strongest selling points of OnePlus. On Thursday, the company introduced the latest iteration of the same – OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15.
OxygenOS 15, based on ColorOS 15, has all the flavours that make Android 15, often perceived bland, more exciting, and also offers a bloatware-free experience.
The OnePlus 12 (review) is the first smartphone to get updated to OxygenOS 15, and the latest operating system will be rolled out to eligible OnePlus smartphones and tablets in the coming months.

OnePlus is calling OxygenOS 15 “speed meets AI,” emphasising its new parallel processing in animations and all the new AI features baked into OxygenOS 15. Actions like app opening, closing, UI, and UX changes will be much smoother, even while you multitask.
OnePlus has revamped most of the UI elements in the OxygenOS 15, and this includes a highly customizable lock screen that looks very similar to HyperOS and iOS 18. However, it offers a higher level of customisation support with different widgets and fonts, and the company calls it OnePlus OneTake.
The new OxygenOS 15 also includes new, customisable home screen widgets, and an enhanced multitasking feature called OnePlus Canvas, allowing users to use multiple apps in a split-window style or as a floating window.
It also introduces new AI experiences that includes three new photo and image editing features – AI Unblur, AI Detail Boost, and AI Reflection Eraser. The Notes app also gets a ton of new AI writing tools, helping improve, summarize, and enhance text. OnePlus is also introducing a new AI-backed on-device search that allows users to find specific files directly from the app tray in just a few seconds.
Despite all these new features, OnePlus calls OxygenOS 15 “light,” and it is also said to take up less space on the upcoming OnePlus 13, launching in China on October 31.
Some older or entry-level OnePlus devices might miss out on certain features due to hardware limitations. If you have a OnePlus 12 or a OnePlus 11 series smartphone, you will have the complete OxygenOS 15 experience.
