Guess The Oasis Song By Its Welsh Translation
Oasis fans have had their Welsh language skills put to the test, after being quizzed on whether they know what some of their favourite band’s songs are translated as.
In the spirit of the band’s long awaited return being in Wales, our reporters took to the streets ahead of Noel and Liam Gallagher’s first performance at the Principality Stadium, to ask whether fans could guess the song by its Welsh translation.
Many managed to identify seren roc a rôl as being the translation for rock and roll star, and sigaréts ac alcohol as Cigarettes and Alcohol, but some found siampên uwchnofa, or Champagne Supernova, a bit trickier.
Beth yw stori? gogoniant y bore, or, What’s the Story? Morning Glory, and wal ryfeddod, or Wonderwall, were also considered difficult.
The eyes of the world were on the Welsh capital last night as Oasis officially marked their return to the stage after 16 years apart.
Its first show in Cardiff was performed in front of 62,000 people, and they have 40 more gigs to a combined audience of 2.6 million to go.
The positive feedback from fans has been overwhelming after their first performance from both fans and critics alike.
National news publications have all given the gig five stars in reviews.
Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot.
Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly.
Elsewhere, resale sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats, StubHub and Twickets are selling tickets for various dates with prices from £121, although fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets.
