No injuries reported in low-rise apartment fire in Orleans

City of Ottawa firefighters controlled a stubborn fire early Saturday in a low-rise residential unit on Titanium Private in the Orleans.

At around 4:16 a.m., several callers reported smoke and flames visible from an upper unit in the building.

Upon arrival, it was confirmed that heavy fire and smoke was visible from a second-storey unit and a call was sent for more resources to the scene.

Firefighters advanced a hose line inside the structure, while others searched for any occupants who might be trapped.

The fire was extinguished and contained to the area of origin. Firefighters also protected the nearby structures that were at risk of catching fire.

The fire was declared under control at: 4:56 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries and the victim Service unit was dispatched to the scene.

An investigator has been dispatched to the scene.
